Ted,

Sorry for the delay, but it has been rather strange over the last little while.  I have been fighting problems with my right hip ... as there is nothing like a joint left in there.  If you see me at an event, it will be riding on a mobility chair that I picked up.  Brian ended up with a shop accident that broke his pelvis, so he is down for a while, too.  We are thinking of changing our name from Milestone to Spirit of '76 ...

Still in discussions with a few folks over new…

Wally Bell OLD IDEAS IN DRAG RACING RETURN

Recently the ADRL announced a Super Car Class that will run with their fine Door Car Events in 2012.

Noel C. Grise Savage III fuel altered

Several years ago while going through a divorce I purchased an old altered and began gathering parts to resurect the old car. Well I recently retired and am now in the process of putting my collection of vintage parts together, I need to thank Butch Machado for going to many swap meets  in search of parts with me, also Ebay and Craigslist have been great sources for vintage parts. My new wife Linda is very supportive of my project and my sons encourage me too. As the car begins to come…

Robbie Solesbee Don't know what you got until it's gone.

Aside from being the title of one of the cheesiest rock ballads ever recorded, it was a hard truth I learned for yesterday. I stay pretty busy with a full time job, building my models, doing SCCA autocross and helping Jeff out here with the sites. Without staying busy I get like that puppy that chews up your favorite pair Bass weejuns or Tony Lama boots you plopped down a wad of cash for. Of course my wife Donna tolerates these things and goes with me most of the time. She's really developed…

Johney Rousey Question: Will there be another Suffolk Raceway Event?

1961-1991 are the years Suffolk Raceway has been around in Suffolk Virginia. While there is nothing anyone can do to bring back our love for drag racing. For the past 8 years we have and will celebrate who they were, how they lived and remember how their lives were spent in a sport that had no name other then "DRAG RACING". The passion perseverance and dedication that will never quit will be celebrated in the memories that will be captured in the 8 years of Suffolk Raceway Reunion- Little…

Robbie Solesbee A rediscovery and an awakening

"We need to go see the drag races again. Sometime" My wife Donna reminds me every now and then. The first time at the strip for her was a trip down to Jackson, SC for a test and tune session. I just wanted to see how fast my 3.9 litre V6 Mustang could go in a quarter. My first time down a strip. I didn't set the world or fire nor did I expect to. But that first time against the tree. I raced go karts with moderate success picking up a few wins on a shoe string budget. The wins were hard…

My name is Beverly Mount Douds, I live in Port St. Joe, Florida and I have published three books so far. (1)  Lighthouse Keepers  (2)  Gulf County and  (3)  Apalachicola. I do mostly pictorial history books and my publisher is Arcadia Publishing Company out of South Carolina. Now I want to do a book on Race Cars and their drivers, like my Uncle who use to drag race a lot when I was a kid. Our family outings were spent watching Uncle Pete Mount and his Purple Passion. As a kid, James…

George Nye Maple Grove

Just flew over the "Grove" this afternoon.  Bit of snow in the left lane about half track.  Some snow in staging lanes.  Paved pit area looks good.  From 3000 feet up it looks like it's ready to go.  NYE
