Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I'm talking early to mid 60's when I was a weekly attendee or competitor. I went to school and/or hung around the service station with most of those guys. It didn't go far when I was trying to pass tech though. Ha!
Ronnie, did you ever know any of the guys that used to work Richmond Dragway, tech crew and whatever? Jocko Brown, Steve Putney, Kirk Mckesson. Jocko and some others that I cannot recall built a Henry J. I believe it had a big block Ford motor. I don't know if the car was ever finished or raced, or what became of it. I only saw it once when it was a work in progress. The car was affectionately named "Clyde". I can't recall many Henry J's in this area. Just curious as to the origin of yours.
Ronnie, Thanks for the site. I was talking to some car guys at breakfast today and Wally's name came up. Very sorry to hear he had passed. Wally had great patience for me in my formative years and I always respected him for that. Spent many a night polishing the interior of the Orange Crate. He even sold me the entire chrome plated quarter elliptic rear suspension system out of the Crate dirt cheap. Thaks again . It has been a long time but good memories tend to persevere.
