Another One Done

Hello friends and future friends.Well, I just put the finishing touches on my January 2010 issue of DRAG RACER Magazine and it was a push. Almost eight weeks ago, I tried to "get ahead" on this one (LOL), but every time I turned around, I was waiting for photos, information, or all of the above. Unfortunately, that pushed things right up to the deadline.Anyway, I'm fortunate to be able to tell the world about the new Edelbrock/Musi "Big Victor" cylinder heads. The end result is a total…See More

Hello friends and future friends.

Well, I just put the finishing touches on my January 2010 issue of DRAG RACER Magazine and it was a push. Almost eight weeks ago, I tried to "get ahead" on this one (LOL), but every time I turned around, I was waiting for photos, information, or all of the above. Unfortunately, that pushed things right up to the deadline.

Anyway, I'm fortunate to be able to tell the world about the new Edelbrock/Musi "Big Victor" cylinder heads. The end result… Continue

Back in the Trenches

Posted on June 25, 2009 at 7:33pm 1 Comment

It's good to be back in SoCal after an extended jaunt to my old stomping grounds from June 10 to the 20th. I flew into Newark with Englishtown as my primary destination, followed by visits to Pat Musi Performance in Carteret, New Jersey, and an enjoyable drive to Connecticut to see my Moroso Homies.

Thursday the 11th dawned wet and gloomy, so I decided to hit Musi's shop instead of the fabled Raceway Park. Pat was working on one of his incredible Edelbrock/Musi 632 motors and a giant… Continue

The Seven Day Itch

Posted on February 11, 2009 at 3:35pm 4 Comments

Well race fans, yesterday marked the seventh day in a row commuting to and from Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. After last Wednesday's Media Preview and luncheon, everything went downhill . . . and fast. I'm sure you all kept up with the dismal news issued on a daily basis, but trust me, I'm dog tired from hanging around, dodging puddles, getting my cameras wet, and waiting some more, only to dodge more puddles. My hat's off to the entire NHRA Safety Safari for their Herculean efforts to dry the… Continue

Another Issue Done!

Well, here I sit . . . it's almost 12:30 PST, I'm eating a bagel lunch (!) at the desk, and my deadline for the May issue of DRAG RACER Magazine was yesterday, and yes, I made it. I decided to do a Funny Car Evolution story and Part 1 is the last piece I turned in at 3:30 yesterday afternoon. Phew, just slid in under the wire!

The more I thought about it, the more that story took on a life of its own. It includes quotes from Roland Leong, Dale Pulde, Jay Howell, Bruce Larson, and… Continue

How to tell if it's gonna be a good day

Posted on January 19, 2009 at 3:30pm 2 Comments

The first phone call I got today was from Roland Leong. That alone told me it was going to be a good day. Roland called to get me up to date on his test session at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on January 17 and 18. He's helping out with the "Bomb Squad" Nostalgia Funny Car, driven by Mendy Fry.

At this stage, things are on hold with his position on Ron Hodgson's "Bubble Up" car from Canada, as the team's plans haven't been finalized for 2009. Oh yeah, Roland also beat me up… Continue

Randy,
To delete the other profile...you'll need to login under that username/email then go to "settings" (in the upper right corner of the page). When you open that page go all the way to the bottom and you should find a link that reads "Leave Drag RacersReunion", ...clicking that link will delete that profile. Let me know if you need anything firther.

JA RAndy. I guess you never recieved my e-mail requesting a copy of your magazine with my "Letter to the Editor" as no one around has a copy. I also subscribed over a month ago and still no copy. What's Up? I talked to Garlits and he said he was going to do an article on his "Night" at Capitol Raceway that I wrote about in Drag News' "News & Views" in '65 of that event. What a SHOW! Have you heard from "Mongoose" on his add-on about, after racing the Jet, the cops, Julio Marra and the "Admiral's" party?
