"The Motown Missile was one of the most technologically advanced cars in its day. Dragway 42 was a fantastic drag strip in the 60's and 70's. One of my all time favorite tracks. This is an awesome photo as are all your photos Dale."
"GREAT pics Dale !!! I'm pretty sure this is Jon Kaase driving Larry Ford's F-1 C/MP '73 Comet winning Modified eliminator over Gary Perdew's F-2 B/MP Hemi Dart. Thanks for posting these rare photos for all of us to enjoy !"
Mr. Cole, Excellent photos! You wouldn't happen to have any of the dark blue '66 Coronet Sedan that Carlon Hine had would you? He sold the car to Bill Turney in Girard, then it went back to Carlon, and Carlon sold it again to Jerry Droeder in Champion. Jerry sold it to Tim Boggs who painted the car black with multi-color flames and ran it from 1974/5-ish to 1984. Feel free to e-mail me if you want: firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks, Steve.
Your photos bring back a lot of memories. I've scanned tons of photos for Todd Wingerter, QC, 42 & TRP from the same era as your photos. Great to see more taken in the same era. I'm sure some of Todd's photos have popped up here.
I owned the '63 Frederick Motors' Big Bad Dodge (which was painted candy apple red and lettered as the "Mopar Monster" and set up for SS/DA when I owned it). Found your post and just wanted to say "Hi".
