1) On the top right corner of every page, you’ll see your name.  The fifth line below your name is the word “Settings.”  Click on “Settings.”

2) Next, on the far left side of the Settings page, you’ll see a list of four items starting with the word “Profile” and ending with the word “Email.”  Click on “Email.”

3) This will take you to the “My Settings - Email” page.  In the middle of that page, you’ll see a list of items that starts out with the word “Email.”  And directly below the word “Email” it says, “What network activity do you want to receive an email notification for?”  Directly below that question is a list of boxes that you can check or uncheck.  If you do not want to receive notifications of emails from Clubs, uncheck (or leave blank) the box in front of the second item, the item that says, “Messages sent to clubs I belong to.”

4) At the very bottom or end of that list, you’ll see a button that says, “Save.”  Make sure you click “Save.”

5) Lastly, and importantly, after you click “Save,” make sure you wait for a message to pop up that says, “You have successfully saved your changes. Go to My Page.”  . 

Another easy way is to simply click the "stop following" option where applicable.
