Malcom Durham was a true friend of drag racing in the Washington, DC area and always put on quite a show for the fans.  He was often willing to stop and talk, whether in his shop or at the track.  Malcolm lent us a helping hand one night on Rt. 395 just across the 14th Street Bridge in DC, when an axle spindle broke on Dick Landy's trailer.  In those days, we had only one axle and we weren't going anywhere.  Malcolm came quickly and brought his truck to take the race car to Capitol for a Funny Car meet, while his crew took the broken trailer to his shop and repaired it. Because of Malcolm's generosity, we raced and did very well that day.  I last saw him at Maple Grove, where his car was on display and his son was competing.  A fine man that will always represent the best as competitor and friend.  We miss him still.
