And that, Barry, is a most succinct description of his job.  He simply does that better than anyone.

 

Those who see or hear him can feel that passion, he literally seethes with it.  He would have you know and therefore understand.

 

And he's willing to explain.  That's what makes him the unique communicator he is.

Thanks for the kind words, Jon. Few are lucky enough to receive words of encouragement from one of their heroes. I just returned from my annual week of bliss enjoying my only other "passion", Bonneville, where I've worked the Long Course TimeSlip Stand for twenty-eight years. The trip is immediately followed by my twenty-eighth annual "Weekend of Recovery". LOL!

Bret's experience is not unique in that the psycho/sensual experience of a first-time drag race upon youthful persons is quite impactful (i.e. they dig it!).

However, what he's "done" with that impression is truly amazing.  Bret Kepner is a participant in the fullest sense; he lives what he does.  And we are blessed thereby.  Nobody, NOBODY  ...  attempting to do what he does today gets close to the height whereat he has nailed the bar!

I agree; great article! With a first race experience like that it's no wonder it cemented a life long passion in drag racing.
